The Hedgehog Hideaway

Self catering waterside glamping

The Ultimate glamping experience

Remember those perfect camping trips as a child? The sun was always shining, the food tasted better, the grass was always littered with wildflowers… but the truth is that fun as it may be, the beds were uncomfortable at best and who wants to get dressed lying on your back in a dew-soaked tent then walk half a mile to the muddy shower block?

So we decided that the hedgehog hideaway would be different… all the best bits of camping, minus all the ‘less fun’ bits!

The Hideaway is furnished with a full-size double bed (a real one, not a camp one), has a comfy 2 seater sofa in front of a wood-burning stove, features its own, outside, hot water shower and composting toilet just next door (If you prefer, there is a mains connected hot shower, with composting toilet, just a short stroll away from the hut). There is also a fire-pit outside that you can cook on or simply relax by.  We wanted the Hedgehog Hideaway to feel like a cosy, proper room – a place to really relax and a true home from home.

With a deck overlooking Brackenwood lake, you can enjoy all of the romance of the great outdoors, without any of the associated discomforts.

Plus, for extra warm fuzzy-ness, we donate £5 from every booking to Devon Wildlife Trust – so every time you stay here you are giving a little something back!

Prices are per night for the hut, not per person – with a minimum 2 night stay. Bank holiday have a minimum 3 night stay.
– Hedgehog hideaway: £100 per night.

Please note:

  • The hideaway can only accomodate 2 people.
  • We do not accept doggy guests – not because we don’t like them, we do, but we need to protect the land and the wildlife here as much as we can.
  • The minimum age for guests is 14 years all minors must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21.
  • Our minimum booking is for 2 nights.

For those of you who have children or dogs, then we do highly recommend Mill Farm for your visit to the South West. They accept dogs and children and are only just down the road. They have a gorgeous lake, Alpacas and stunning grounds to roam…

We have tried to equip the hideaway with everything we think you might want or need while you are here, from a basic welcome pack of essentials to get you started, to a comfy place to sit both inside and outside.

We provide lots of information on local eateries, takeaways and of course, things to do and see while you are here in the information pack – but if you need anything else, just ask.
