NEW - Camping at Brackenwood
We are now offering limited camping on site – only 4 tent pitches! We have a special sand topped, level, well-drained area set aside specifically for tents, for those of you who prefer life under canvas.
To ensure that you have privacy during your stay, each pitch is generously spaced and we are only offering 4 pitches. Choose from our pre-pitched tent option, for the ultimate in easy camping or just book a pitch and bring your own tent. Less than 50m away from any of the pitches you will find a hot shower, compost toilet and sink area as well as a covered, hot water washing up area. All toiletries are provided and are 100% natural. Each pitch has a designated cooking area, fire pit and tarp shelter for shade or protection.
You are off-grid here, so you can truly escape the stresses of modern life, and all within the 8 acres of lakeside re-wilding. We have made sure there are plenty of places to sit and relax, by the lake or under the trees. We can even provide a stove for hire if you don’t want to bring your own (see below ‘optional extras’).
We offer the same breakfast delivery service as we do for our Hedgehog Hideaway stays, so for a small fee you can have a hot breakfast delivered to your tent!

pre-pitched tent
Love camping but hate pitching, setting up and taking down? Well, we have the perfect solution! We provide a modern 4 man tent with 2 bedrooms and a central area, already pitched, pegged and ready for you move into. We even provide the inflatable mattress(es), seating, cooking equipment, stove and a cool box with ice pack. All you have to do is pack your clothes, bedding and toiletries – no fuss, no hassle. This tent is available for either 2 person or 4 person hire.
Dormouse pre-pitched tent
Two spacious double bedrooms, each with mossie mesh and zip-down wind-stopper option. Internal groundsheet and full standing room in both bedrooms and central area. Front window section and a rear door to expand space or open up to fresh air. Great views of the lake and the spectacular sunsets from the camping area.
NEW – ‘Otter pre-pitched tent’
We now have a second 4 person tent option, with a different configuration, allowing more flexibility: Can be set up with either 1 large bedroom or two double bedrooms side by side. This single door tent also allows a more generous internal area for relaxing. So just choose the tent you prefer and leave the rest up to us.
The minimum stay is 2 nights at a cost of £55 per night for up to 2 people.
Additional occupants: £10 per person, per night.
Mattresses supplied are doubles.
Standard tent pitch
A generous pitch size on our sand-based, level camping area, with built in fire pit / designated cook area. Each tent pitch provides glorious views of the lake (and the sunsets) and the surrounding countryside (not a pylon in sight) and have a shower and compost toilet less than 50m away.
There is no minimum minimum stay. Price is £22 per night for up to 2 people.
Additional occupants: £5 per person, per night. Maximum of 4 people per tent (due to pitch sizes). We also erect a small tarp shelter for each pitch so that you have a covered area in case of inclement weather…

Camp essentials kit For 2 people – £30 per 2 nights: Frying pan, cook pot, kettle, mugs, cutlery, plates, bowls, tea-towel, water carrier, utensils and a cool box. (for 4 person hire add £5).

Ice pack hire/freezing £2 per day (if you bring your own – we will freeze them for free)
